Wedding Flowers: Real or Fake? Part II

Going back to real or fake? First things first: fake flowers are not always necessarily cheaper. Yes, real flowers can hike up the price of your overall purchase - but only when you delve into the realm of exotic or “out-of-season” blooms. And unless you plan to create a bouquet entirely out of Dahlias or Peonies in the middle of winter (sorry, Reader, if this is you), there’s really no need to worry about you breaking your bank.
In fact, friendly budget florists work with and encourage clients to consider “in-season” options and flowers that do well in your geographic zone. Not only are these flowers typically lower in price, they can be just as beautiful (or even more so) than the more “exotic” ones. Take Alstroemerias, for example - though their ideal blooming time is in the summer, these beauties can go all year round. Not to mention that they are a hardy and robust flower, lasting up to two weeks in a vase - and if taken care of properly, can continue to bloom all its buds.
Regardless of some other florists’ opinions, I consider these as a great addition (and personally one of my favorites) for any Wedding in Florida weather - if combined with the right color they’ll bring an amazing texture to any arrangement. I’ve always thought of them as butterflies hovering over your bouquet!
