So what is color?
“Color is an experience. It is physically and psychologically experienced by the body and mind” (Geall, 2020). When a bride comes to our studio for a wedding consultation one of the questions, we go over is about style and colors.
Our advice is to think about your wedding as an entire design project that includes your venue and the most minimum details in your table scape.
The venue style will most definitely set the tone for your event design. From there you can think about colors that will go well with the season, or any personal preference.
In the case of your flowers keep in mind that they will look in different ways depending on the flowers that you choose. For instance, you can make a flower appear lighter by having darker blooms around it and vice versa: surround a dark flower with paler ones to make it look lighter.
Think of a monochromatic or analogous scheme where you use one single hue and its adjacent colors in the color wheel. Otherwise, go for contrasting but balanced colors to create a dramatic and gorgeous composition.
